Reference prices of electricity from RES for 2020


On May 4, 2020, the Regulation of the Minister of Climate of April 24, 2020 on the reference price of electricity from renewable energy sources in 2020 and the periods applicable to producers who won auctions in 2020 was published in the Journal of Laws.


This regulation specifies:


1. the maximum price in PLN per 1 MWh for which electricity from renewable energy sources may be auctioned by generators in 2020, hereinafter referred to as the "reference price";


2. the period during which the purchase obligation is due in accordance with Art. 92 sec. 1 of the Act of February 20, 2015 on renewable energy sources, hereinafter referred to as the "Act", and the period in which the right to cover the negative balance referred to in Art. 92 sec. 5 of the Act, with regard to energy generated in renewable energy sources installations, due to the producers referred to in Art. 72 sec. 1 of the Act, applicable to producers who win the auction in 2020.


The highest price (760 PLN / MWh) applies to installations with a total installed electrical capacity of less than 500 kW, using only agricultural biogas to generate electricity from high-efficiency cogeneration.
